Kandi Cota Technique

About her technique

Cota uses her empathetic way to transform a canvas into an affected experience. Her wish is that you continue to discover life and beauty in the post expressionist style in a fluid way.  The use of mixed media creates some tangibility in the moments that seem to last forever in the beauty of feeling, thought and emotion. Her work holds many different contexts up close and at a distance. Discover.

Original Works

Kandice paints in Grumbacher and Windsor & Newton oil and acrylic colors on large heavy duty canvases using professional quality paints with UV protection to last a lifetime.

Limited Edition Giclee Canvas Prints

Kandice began developing her body of work on a larger and more affordable scale through her Open(O/E), Limited(L/E) & Studio(S/E) Edition Giclees.

You are purchasing a museum quality fine art giclee print on custom stretched canvas from an original painting by Kandice Cota.

The edges are staple free and finished in a matching color making your print ready to hang. Your giclee is hand-embellished, signed, numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. These canvas prints are individually hand crafted by  in San Francisco, CA and are available in selected works and sizes.

About The Giclee Process:

Fine art reproduction has been revolutionized with the Giclee printing process. From the French verb "to spray", the word Giclee (zhee-clay) is used to describe the digital fine art printmaking process and reproduction of original artwork. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto canvas and fine art paper. Paper or canvas is individually mounted onto a drum which rotates during printing. Since no screens are used in Giclee printing, the prints have a higher resolution than lithographs and the dynamic color range is greater than serigraphy. Image permanence is a concern to artists and collectors and the Giclee process gives fade & color shift resistance of better than 125 years. Since the digital image includes every subtlety and nuance of the original - including the smallest details of light and shadow - the fine art giclee is often indistinguishable from the original work of art.

Giclee prints are priced midway between original art and limited edition lithographs and rarely exceed 50-400 reproductions. KCG limited edition giclees are hand-painted, hand-signed and numbered by the artist to identify each work of art as a part of the total edition.
