Kandi Cota uses unique color combinations that inspire women to feel like a masterpiece.  The lifestyle collection of fashion, shoes, sportswear and accessories for women, embodies the personal style and spirit of its founder and creative director, Kandi Cota.  Perceiving a void in the market for a sophisticated American aesthetic at an accessible price point, Ms. Cota wanted to create stylish yet wearable clothing and accessories for women of all ages.  Kandi Cota was launched in 2005 with the creation of her first series of inspirational art products in Los Angeles.

In designing Kandi Cota, Ms. Cota draws inspiration from her favorite era the 1960s and 1970s.  She relies on such style influences as art, photographs, films, her mother and father's vintage wardrobes, her life experience growing up around the globe and the work of the masters from Mondrian to Cezanne and Picasso.  These influences find their way into Cota's personal style and color palette, which are directly reflected in the Kandi Cota collection.

Kandi Cota blends timeless and classic design elements with modern fashion sensibilities.  Cota achieves this by drawing on her understanding of color, human form, vintage clothing, fashion history and tailoring, and then accenting it with bold and ethnic details.  Particularly significant to this diverse mix are bold and graphic prints, the colors of which convey the spirit of each collection.  The Kandi Cota collection provides an original look for the style-conscious woman who might be aware of trends but does not rely on them.

Kandice Cota was born in Baytown, Texas and currently resides in California.  Ms. Cota started her career in fashion as a junior buyer for Macys, before she went on to experience the role of fashion in many places including as an Mba student, in high tech and entertainment.  It all began for her as a painter who spent her life enmeshed in other cultures and finally the culture of fashion; She now uses the human form as her greatest canvas as she blazes her defining way into fashion design.  Her resume includes time at Macy's helping to build brands such as Ellen Tracy, Guess, XOXO and Esprit.

Kandi Cota is now sold via the new website at www.kandicota.com.  The collection is also available at nearly 200 specialty stores throughout the United States and several e-tailers.  Kandi Cota products help every retailer become an inspiring place to find unique apparel, accessories & home decor.
